Located near Ottawa’s downtown core, 291 Carling Avenue is a 3.4 acre (1.4 hectares) parcel of which currently has 300 fully occupied parking stalls.

The property was acquired as part of a joint venture by the Algonquins of Ontario and Canada Lands Company in February 2017. This venture also builds upon an ongoing partnership at Wateridge Village at the former Canadian Forces Base Rockcliffe.  The management committee overseeing 291 Carling Avenue has equal representation from both organizations, with Canada Lands Company acting as the project manager.

The current development process entails an analysis to be completed to determine best use of the site, including close collaboration in conjunction with the City of Ottawa, the local community and other stakeholders in order to create a master plan, as well as obtaining all planning/zoning approvals, and then the sale of services lots or blocks to builders. This process also includes an extensive consultation process with the public, including public meetings, concepts and drafts for review.

Canada Lands Company (CLC) and the Algonquins of Ontario (AOO) are pleased to invite you to attend a drop-in information session regarding the 291 Carling Avenue redevelopment.

The public is invited to drop by any of the sessions at their convenience. Staff will be present to provide information and answer questions about the draft concept plans for the site. The concepts incorporate input collected through our ongoing community engagement process.
